History

Founded in 1992 by a German librarian and her economist daughter, JSD began by supplying conference proceedings to German university libraries and institutes. Located initially in Potomac, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, DC, JSD was perfectly situated to acquire and supply North American literature for the German academic and research markets.

Since our founding, JSD has supplied all types of publications, gray literature, and documents to libraries throughout the world. In 1998, at our customers’ request and due to our proximity to US agency libraries, we began providing Document Delivery Services, a service in which we excel.

Today

Today our offices are located in Rockville, Maryland, which is under 15 minutes from Washington, DC, and a few minutes from Bethesda, Maryland. This is not only a dynamic metropolitan area, but it is also now headquarters for thousands of associations and societies, with whom we do business daily.
